Want to Play Hawaii?
Ok. Come perform in Hawaii!
Bands are welcome.
Comics are welcome.
Shows aren’t hard to come by.
But…
Covering the costs can be a challenge.
It is Hawaii however. Often called a tropical paradise, so that's not terrible!
A lot of bands travel to all of the “lower 48” and never get to Alaska or Hawaii.
This page is meant to let people know that Hawaii can be an option. You might just have to be a bit reasonable.
You can’t just pull up in your van obviously.
But maybe you’re going to Asia or Australia? Hit is up on the way there or when you’re heading back.
We specialize in 'alternative'... punk mostly, but some ska, rock, metal, etc
Popular bands:
Man you gotta speak to your handlers. Some booking agents want top dollar guarantee plus airfare plus ground transportation plus hotel rooms etc etc etc.
Be reasonable. This isn’t a major market but it’s a great destination. Maybe I can whip up an offer but too many times booking agents have wanted your normal rate of pay plus a whole bunch of logistical expenses that don't apply on the mainland. We can talk, but again, be reasonable.
Techs and managers - sorry, just can’t cover their cost for you. I’ve been a TM tho and can/will take care of bands/comics as if a personal guest.
Newer bands:
If you cover your airfare we can cover a backline.
Stay in a hostel for cheap or maybe overload an Airbnb.
You probably won’t cover all the costs of the trip, but you’ll be in a tropical paradise.
So what we’re saying is… We can’t do guarantees… but we can host good shows… and have been since 1995.
We always keep expenses down. Bands always earn 100% of their merch sales.
It’s impossible to predict what kind of turnout to expect. It is a small island after all, but the experience is hard to beat.
Some things to consider for all:
Timing - often times for the best prices you need to plan in advance.
Weather - while it’s often really nice there are rough days.
Competition - it’s avoided whenever possible but sometimes there are multiple events on the same day, and there’s only so many people to go around on an island.
If you want to learn more, reach out any time.
